Product Info

Derived from fresh apricots, we offer both sun-dried and sulphured dried apricots.
Sun Dried Apricots

Tree-ripened, hand-picked apricots are processed with old-world, traditional methods; sun-dried directly under the sunlight, and not treated with sulphur dioxide. These apricots have a light to dark brown color.

The harvested apricots are laid on sack cloths, and dried out under the open sun for 2-3 days, until apricots soften significantly. Next, the apricots are collected and pitted by hand, one at a time.

Our apricots are then size-sorted and machine-wrapped in high-quality daypack bags to ensure complete freshness until they arrive in your hands.

Sulphured Dried Apricots

Treated with sulphur dioxide (SO2) in order to provide a lighter coloring and a longer shelf life, these sulphured dried apricots are a light yellow orange.

This is to protect against microorganisms that could harm the apricots, and to protect the fruit’s natural color. After this, the apricots are taken back outside, to dry in the sun.

Adding sulfur dioxide(SO2) can also help to preserve the color, although there are strict limitations to the amount to add, and that limit is set by the country in which the apricots will be purchased.
